                                                    Melaka - First Destination
Home

Reached Melaka around noon time. Met another 2 of my old friends Sam and Mey there. So the number of old friends that I met along the way increased as I travel.

Our lunch was the unique chicken rice ball. Quite interesting how they make the rice into ping pong ball liked.

Then we headed off to A Formosa Resort Water World. Quite nice for a hot day. But the entrance was not cheap though. A higher entrance fee was in store for us at the Cowboy Town. But since we were there already.. We just went in. Overall, we had fun there.

More fun was the following day... We toured around Melaka town. Visiting one historical sites after another...

Not too sure what the area is called, but it's nice to take photo there.

Our visit to a Baba & Nyonya restaurant somewhere in Jonker St. Very nice food. Baba & Nyonya is actually a 'distinct' group of people. Hybrid of Malay and Chinese culture (a bit of Indian culture too I suppose). So, for those of you who wonder who are those 2 people in the photo..well..they are baba & nyonya..not my parents..

Fountain of... (forgot the name already..sorry..)..Anyway, it's quite pretty.

End of the year is usually a very much anticipated time for me. It is the time when I return to my homecountry Malaysia and time to meet my old friends. Not that my old friends are old people, but I refer them as old friends because we have known each other for a long time.

For last year, 2003, I returned to Malaysia around November taking the flight from Melbourne to Singapore. Stayed one night in Singapore and managed to visit some night hawker stalls.

The following day, I travelled across the courseway to Johor. Met my friend John there and we travelled to our first destination, the pleasant historical town, Melaka.
